Why it was recalled

The FSA's risk statement:

Peanuts and or tree nuts

These products may contain nuts making them a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts and/or tree nuts.

Details from the notice

The National Trust is recalling a range of biscuits as they have been prepared and manufactured in a factory that also handles peanuts and/or tree nuts and is missing ‘may also contain peanuts or tree nuts’ within the allergen statement on the label. This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts and/or tree nuts.

An Allergy Alert is issued when an allergen is missing from the label or labelled wrongly.

What the business is doing

The National Trust is recalling the above products from customers. The company has also issued point-of-sale notices to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products. Please see the attached notices.
